what causes a purplish color to the seman ejaculation. no pain or noticable swelling otherwise.

Why would there be purplish color (possibly blood) to the seman in the ejaculation? There is no noticable swelling, pain, or other symptoms.

I have a friend in the Air Force who's wife freaked when she saw his was purple. It was due to an injection that was given to him while he was in the Air Force. I believe it went away after a week.
