weight lifting - stunting growth

Hello there! I am 16 ys old guy and for quite some time I was thinking about lifting weights but I heard that lifting 2 much weight can cause growth stunt. Is this true?

You should not worry about growth stunt. Weight lifting can only help you grow your body better and quicker. Ofcourse you must talk to the trainers in the gym. They will help you reach you max weights. You must be careful at the beginning cos your muscles are not used to strain, so there could be some risk of injuring tendons, ligaments, or joints that are not used to heavy lifting.
You could also consult a doctor about your health condition before starting with the weight lifting.
