so for the past few weeks I've been having a constant pain in my upper abdomen, it feels like its right below my ribs so to speak. I went to the doctor and had a ton of tests, my blood work was completely normal and because the pain was so high they gave me a "GI cocktail", and decided to give me a trial on prevacid. The pain has gone away but the nausea has remained. It's constant. My upper abdomen is tender as well when you press on it (even gently). There's also a pressure when I suck my stomach in even slightly.. I've also been urinating alot, but that could be due to me drinking alot more water lately. I'm just not sure. Anyone have any ideas what it could be or maybe have experienced the same thing?

This is really weird I have almost the same thing. My stomach right below my ribs is really bloated it is really tender and I am almost always having nausea. It is the weirdest thing ever and it has been getting worse. I am also having to go to the restroom a lot more but it hits me like a ton of bricks and sometimes its hard to make it to the restroom. I am 23 yrs old and I am getting confused with all these weird things going on with my body. I have also been really late everymonth on my periods but they still come so for a while i thought I might be pregnant because I also have the constent breast tenderness. I hate this not knowing whats wrong with me it sucks. I am going to the doctor tomorrow I hope they can find whats wrong I am also always fatigued. I also have had small amounts of blood in my stool. I really am getting tired of this. Sad

Hey Girls,
Im curious if you guys ever determined what was the cause of your symptoms... because oddly enough, I'm around the same age, 23... and experiencing very similiar symptoms. I was out with my girlfriends tonight at dinner, and started drinking a martini... and all of a sudden started experiencing very intense upper abdominal pain on my right side... Right under my rib cage all the way to my chest.. I started feeling really nauseus, the pain was so severe I had to leave dinner early and head home. I've looked up some of my symptoms... and it seems as though, abdominal pain on the right side in that location can be associated with liver/gallbladder issues... and often gallstones can be to blame... By no means am I a doctor, but this pain was so intense, I'm a bit hesistant to have a drink... I'm curious if you guys ever figured out why you were having these pains... also you mentioned frequently being late for your period... I also have been experiencing this, as well as feeling more fatigued than usual as well.. I'm hoping you ladies, or someone out there may have more insight than I to lend to this issue... it started happening about 3 weeks ago, usually when I drink.. I'm wondering if alcohol could be irritating a pre-existing condition that going on that I may be unaware of... I'm more than happy to hear anyones experience or knowledge regarding this... Thanks!

I would love to find out what this is because I have the EXACT same symptoms and I thought maybe I was pregnant because my period was late and brief which is so strange since I'm on the pill and have never had a late period but needless to say I wasn't pregnant but the symptoms kept going. Nauseous, constant stomach aches, tenderness and bloating under my ribs, it's just horrible. It's hurting my everyday life and I can't handle it. I feel like throwing up constantly but never do. I haven't been to a special doctor for any gastric problems but I need answers!

Oh great...I'm 23 too! And I'm having the SAME exact problem. But the only thing that I can add is that I was tested positive for Chlamydia which is a bacterial infection inside the uterus. As silly as it may sound, I actually got it from my husband giving me oral sex early in the morning before brushing his teeth, who the heck would've thought?!

Well, I got treated and I'm all cleared up, thank God! Now my abdomen is so tender to the touch, and I have been peeing a lot more often than not and sometimes when I go pee, I feel like I have to go again...Grr...I'm going to the docs tonight at 6:30 [east coast time] so if I find out anything, I'll be sure to post it up for you ladies Smile

P.S. I'm 3 and a half weeks late for my period and I've had 2 pregnancy tests and there's just no way that its possible... but if I were you guys, go and get checked out for STD's and STI's. especially chlamydia because you can have it for years and not even know it! They should make it mandatory and I dont know why they havent.
