I have heard about restrictive nutrition in people with diabetes type 1. I have a daughter diagnosed with diabetes type 1 and I need more information about this. It is very hard to take care of child who is crying for chocolate. Is a diabetic's nutrition that complicate and restrictive as I think?

Like a diabetic, with diabetes type 1, I had the same troubles before. I say before, because I don't have it now. My doctor told me that in now days there are new approach to this issue. It is called medical nutrition therapy. It is term used to describe the optimal coordination of caloric intake, for each patient separately. So you can contact your daughter's doctor and ask about this.
