There are 4 types of prostatitis that have different symptoms.

The most common symptoms present in all forms are frequent and urgent need to urinate, pain or burning when urinating as well as pelvic, groin or low back pain.

Have you been already diagnosed with prostatitis? The patients are usually not told what kind pf prostatitis they have. The thing is that prostatitis may be tricky because it often resembles other conditions like the infection of the bladder.

There is a difference in acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis. In acute, the symptoms come suddenly and may be quite severe while the chronic symptoms come gradually and are not so severe although they may have onsets of mild and severe.

In the acute prostatitis, a person would develop fever, chills, experience pain in the lower back and genitals, urinary problems as well as painful ejaculations. In chronic, frequent need to urinate, night long urinations, pain in the prostate, diminished urine flow, etc…of course, a person suffering from prostatitis may not experience all of these symptoms.
Once you have been determined what kind of prostatitis you suffer from, a proper treatment would be prescribed. The treatment usually involves mewdications but sometimes physical therapy as well.
Acute prostatitis may be dangerous and asks for immediate professional evaluation. A person may stay in hospital to receive intravenous antibiotics.
There are also some things you can do on your own to speed up the healing process and improve your overall health. It is advised to prostatitis patients to drink a lot of water, avoid alcohol, spicy food and coffee and have regular sex.
