Hi. I was wondering if someone could help me figure this out... I had a tubal ligation after my 3rd baby over 6 years ago. Before and between babies, I had a very normal, 28-day mentrual cycle. After I got my tubes tied, my periods changed dramatically. My periods starts with days of spotting and then around day 6, I have 3 days of a heavy (with cramping!) period followed with a few more days of a light or spotted period. In total, my periods usually last 10-12 days and then I start all over again in 2 weeks. Just recently I had a "normal after tubal" period and then started spotting again after 12 days. Although this spotting or very light period has been going on for 11 days. I took a pregnancy test just to rule it out and it was negative. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? I usually have clots during my heavy days but have had none of this since this last episode. I haven't changed anything in my diet or lifestyle, so I am clueless as to why this is happening. Any ideas?

Well, it’s obvious your periods became erotic after tubal ligation and sometimes our cycle just changes no matter whether we had a tubal ligation or not.

I used to have a normal 24 cycle but for the last year, my cycle changed with no life style changes, no pregnancies, no birth control pills or any procedures done.

Is started having one period on the day 24 of the cycle and the next one would come on the day 28 th of that cycle that the third one would again come on day 24 and 4th on the day 28th, so there’s still a pattern, it just changed.

My symptoms also changed and are much stronger that before, and I started experiencing mood problems and feeling fatigue during periods. This is something I have never had before. I am contributing it to my age since I have entered child-bearing age and have not gotten pregnant yet. Maybe things will settle once I get pregnant?

Anyway, I don’t think that anything’s wrong with you but if you feel that way you may see your gyn and see if you have developed some ovarian cysts that usually cause spotting or if something else’s the matter.

I had a tubal ligation 9 months ago following the c-section birth of my son.

I have noticed that my cycles vary between 23-31 days, pre tubal ligation it was regular at 26-27 days without oral contraception. I have always had heavier periods when not on birth control. However, each period following the tubal ligation I have had spotting mid cycle. Usually it is around day 12-15 and lasts 2-4 days, sometimes brown, sometimes pink. This cycle it started at day 9 and is still here day 11, and is light brown. I am also noticing PMS type symptoms.

I have previously been diagnosed with panic disorder and have taken an anti depressant, Aropax for 10 years. I finally got the medication down to half before the birth, and have had to up it back to the original dose around 3 months ago because I have developed depression again.

I'm really at a loss to explain the spotting mid cycle.

Anyone have any clues? Thanks. Andrea Smile

Hi,
I had a tubal ligation 17 months ago, I spot bleed everyday since the birth of my daughter. When I ovulate along with the clear mucus discharge mine has reddish brown blood in it. I called my obgyn for the first 9 months after the birth and I was continually told, it will stop. I also, had hot flashes, cold, moody(much more than usual) and I would cry for no reason. Oh yeah my sex drive went from being interested all the time to maybe a 15 minute window once aweek. I finally was fed up did tons of research on the internet and discovered I have tubal ligation syndrome. Bought the books, read them and was suprised that doctors pushed me aside. I have been seeing the same dr. for 12 years. After a lot of frustration I went to a highly recommend obgyn who listened to me intently. She did blood work and put me on the pill. If I wanted to be on the pill, I wouldn't have gotten a Tubal. Anyway, the blood work came back that I was in MENOPAUSE. Yes menopause. My hormones were all out of wack. After 4 months of being on the pill and bleeding for 3 weeks I wouldn't get my period the week I was supposed to. Finally, I have given up on the pill and NO ONE HAS DONE AN INTERNAL EXAM ON ME. I have been bleeding only 12 days a month since I stopped the pill. I guess it is better than everyday. I still am searching for a new obgyn. I spoke to my kids pediatrician who I love, told her the story, she is disgusted that no one has done an internal. She has recommended her obgyn but I am waiting for an appointment. Good Luck.

I had a tubal in May, 2008 after I had my daughter by c-section. I have bled and bled. Finally, I got my ob/gyn doctor to listen to me. I bled for 3 months straight. She put me on birth control pills. They DID NOT work. So, I told her that I had all of the symptoms of tls. (tubal ligation syndrome) She acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. She said that it didn't exist. I insisted that she look up and read about it everywhere on the internet. She got me another doctor to talk to. They totally ignore me now when I start to talk about it. Is this normal? I finally got a doctor to put me on the Depo shot. I started losing weight like crazy. Now, I am gaining weight. It has only been a month and I have been bleeding for 2 weeks now. So, I put myself back on the birth control pills, along with the Depo. I don't know what else to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there anyone that can help me get my life back? Does anyone help with tubal reversals?
