something not right_bleeding in menopause

hi,i am 47 yrs old and basicly menopaused when i was 38. have not bleed for about 8 yrs. now i started bleeding quite heavily 3 days ago. normal. i dont know.can u help with an answer.

DO you have yearly pap smears?

It would be a good idea for you to check in with your doctor, just to make sure you don't have any problems...

Hello there! There are many possible reasons for a menopausal woman to bleed. Some of the conditions are benign, others more dangerous, so seeing a gynecologist would be the smartest thing to do.
Every woman should have at least one gyn exam a year.

The bleeding in menopausal women could occur due to uterine fibroids or uterine polyps. These are benign growths but are famous for causing irregular bleedings. Uterine fibroids could also hurt or make a woman’s stomach swell as if she were pregnant. Unfortunately, uterine cancer too can be the reason of uterine bleeding.

Women who develop cysts on ovaries in menopause may also bleed but these cysts are more often cancerous that those that develop at younger age.

Cervical polyps, or cervical infection could also cause bleeding especially after sex.
Problems with thyroid glands could be causing the bleeding, so you do need to see a doctor and make sure everything’s in order.
