reynauds and the throat

my 145 year old has reynauds syndrome. we were at a water park yesterday and he was having trouble with his hands..however the front of his throat was also very pale. this was a first. i understood that reynauds ony effectes the extremities but his throat looked like it was being effected as well. is that even possible and has anyone else ever hear of or experienced this?
