Hello,
my father will be expecting recovery from cervical laminectomy. What are we to except? When will the stitches be removed? How long is he going to be off work?

The surgical wound clips will be removed in hospital before going home, rare after discharge form hospital. I must inform you, that pain and stiffness in neck will persist for several weeks. Period of being off work lasts different with people, but most usual around 2 weeks, sometimes 4. It also depends on the nature of work… for example if work involves lifting heavy things then, several months…actually it is not recommendable to do that job ever again.
