I'm a male who is 5'4" and I've been wondering if weightlifting affects bone growth in length. I wish I could get taller..Anyways, does execercises like leg presses, dead lifts and squats prevent a person from growing tall?
Thanks

Yea, I am 14 5'7'' 125 pounds and I am in 9th grade...just started lifting for school this year. My mom keeps teling me not to lift more than my body weight. Is this true, will lifting more than my weight stunt my growth? For the bench, I max out at 115, but for dead lift I normally do 135-140 (don't tell my mom!) because the coach keeps pushing me, but I know I could do more...maybe 150-160. What should I do to not stunt my growth, but still be pushing myself to get stronger?
