I am 34 years old and still have problems with parents. They treat me as if I'm still their little kid who does not know anything about life problems. Do I have to mention that I am married for 7 years now and have two children of my own? Last argue we had been about some money I saved that I planned investing in business. Of course, they are far from thrilled with the idea, and they act as if it's their money, which drives me crazy! What should I do to make them see me as an adult?

It would seem that it is nearly impossible to make our parents understand that, when they talk to us they are dealing with adult persons, not children anymore. That behavior comes from the fact that they were with us since we were just small babies, they taught us everything, and for a long period of time, we were dependant on them, they were are protectors. Parent – child connection is the strongest bond in human relationships, so no wonder we're still kids for them. Try talking, not arguing, maybe that'll work. Be patient with them, as they were once with you.
