Hi! As far as I known about laparoscopic surgeries, you should be as good as knew after 4 weeks. My father underwent open cholecystectomy a decade ago and it took a long time to heal, he was in a lot of pain and his wounds were bleeding, he had problems having showers and it all lasted for about 5 weeks. I remember him saying where were they when I was operated (thinking of laparoscopy surgeons).
Then I did some reading on laparoscopy procedure where it wrote that it took like a week or two to fully recover, no bleeding, little pain, etc

But it seems that not everything’s what they say it is. Anyway, I hope you will figure out what it is and that you will feel much better soon. Good luck!

I would consult your doctor for sure. From what I understand, you should be back to normal within two weeks.

I just had laproscopic gallbladder removal 4 days ago, and I'm wondering why I have a constant pain under my right lower rib that radiates to the back. I can't lay on my side and when I breathe in deep it hurts. The 4 surgical inscisions seem to be doing fine, but I am concerned about this constant pain on my right side. What could it possibly be? I appreciate anyone's insight.

I had severe stabbing pain during recovery in hospital about six hours after surgery when I slowly attempted to rotate to left side. I was screaming and crying it was so bad. Also had collapsed lung pocket, was told to breathe deep from here on out or would get pneumonia. One day, now, post-surgery (laparoscopic) and have to keep clearing lungs and still have issues trying to lay on left side, results in severe pain from puncture sites. Could this be because I am overweight? I feel that maybe my big belly is actually pulling at the stitches when I try to lay on side. Anyone else have this issue, pain is accompanied by burning at sites and sometimes coldness like water dripping on them and also the typical leakage and there is an odd sensation of insect legs crawling across from upper middle site. Am I just freaking out too soon?
