Hi, I am 42 years old and Iused to treat psoriasis with clobethazole ointment for 12 years. My doctor suspects that I have been developing porokeratosis as well. Why is it happening?

Porokeratosis is a chronic disorder characterized by slightly plaques surrounded by a border. Lesions of porokeratosis may develop on elbows, legs. Usually, steroid based creams are applied for long period of time, like in chronic dermatological conditions, to supreme immune reaction and inhibit inflammation. But, this immunosuppressive effect may lead to another complication, forming of plaques. The plaques occurring all over the body may be of different size from a few millimeters to several centimeters in diameter. Sometimes, it’s not easy to distinguish psoriasis from porokeratosis.
