polyps in children

A doctor is suspecting my daughter has polyps and she is about to undergo a colonoscopy. We are both interested if she will be awake or put to sleep during the procedure and if she would experience any discomfort shortly after the procedure. Thank you

Most of the children and teenagers are put to sleep. They wake up soon after the colonoscopy had ended. They don’t feel any pain during the procedure. The anesthesiologists make sure patients don’t wake up during the procedure as they monitor them and give more medicine if needed. There could be some cramping after the procedure but nothing serious. They are able to go home about two hours after
