I had an I.V. put in yesterday and was administered saline and 25mg of Phenergan over a 4 hour period. The I.V. was taken out after 800CC of saline. My hand is now swollen and there is a red streak along the line of my vein where the medicine went in. The medic that administered it says it's normal. I'm just wondering if I should be concerned. I slept with an ice pack on it last night.

Hi there, it's not a good idea to sleep with an ice pack on your skin because it can get too cold and you can actually cause further problems! I hope that your arm is okay now. Do you still have issues with it? How is your hand doing now? Let me know how everything's going
