Hello everybody. I’ve just been diagnosed with some Thyroid disorder. My doc told me that I have few treatment options. Among others, he mentioned HRT and surgery. Can anybody here give me some advice?? I mean, my doc told me that each treatment can be helpful but that I should decide which one to take... So, I would really like to get some help with this cause I still cand decide which one would be the best... Also, if I decide for the surgery, how huge will be the scars and how long is the recovery period?? Thanks a lot.

Well, I know that thyroid hormone replacement therapy is generally safe and effective. I even think that it is one of the most commonly used ones. So, that is never a bad choice. On the other hand, there are various options for thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well. AS for the scars, I really can’t tell you much other than that it is individual and that it depends on the specific treatment needed. Anyway, I would first try with HRT and if id did not produce results, then would try surgery... But, that is what I would do...
