nipples swollen and sore

i came home from work lastnight and was getting ready to take a shower and noticed that my nipples were swollen and sore. my breasts are not sore so i didnt think that i could be pregnant. but this morning i woke up with a mild fever. then it went away.
plz, i need to know what this could be.

Sometimes the flu can have this effect.
