Can anxiety and panic attacks cause physical swelling on the chest wall and throat?
My mom has had a swollen area around her neck, on her chest plate, right under the adams apple area for a couple of months. She has attacks of not being able to breath and a constant feeling of something in her throat, which also visably swells sometimes. Been to LOTS of doctors had lots of tests, no diagnosis.

Sounds like she has an enlarged thyroid (like me). It can be treated easilly with medication, tell her to go see a doctor ASAP as it can get worse to the point of needing surgery.

I had the same thing, and suffered for a year, waking up at nig dht not being able to breath. I decided to take diuretics, which I used to take for high blood pressure, but stopped 12 months ago, they took away the swelling as it was a build up of water, its only my second day and I feel much better already, I happen to have had some at home (old medication) I will now go to the doctor for more, and this time keep on them, otherwise my arteries get clogged up, water builds up and I cant breath.
