Hi, my friend is 26 years old and he told me that he is feeling very sick. I know him since we were in high school and he always was very strong guy and captain of football team. He also told me that he has visited his doctor several days ago and that he found low thyroid hormones in his blood. I would like to know something more about problems which may cause lack of thyroid hormones.

Hi, low thyroid hormones are very serious disorder. At the beginning people may thought they are experiencing consequences of stress as they feel tired and has intolerance on cold. Later their hair became thinner, they gain extra weight, experience joints and bones pain and also feel very depressed. However these symptoms may be partially corrected with therapy which his doctor would prescribe him. Thyroral is medication which may be very useful.
