hey i'm sixteen and i've been on the depo shot for just over a year and i lost about fifteen pounds and went down two pant sizes!! i was small before but now i am even smaller i didn't gain any weight at all, but my moods have gone crazy and i can't control them, i often feel like crying for absolutely no reason and i get upset over the dumbest things. My thoughts are that it's the shot because i was a very happy person 24/7 before i started the shot....just a thought.

Over 3 years ago i got the depo shot, i just got one shot and within a month i had gained 40 pounds. This shot has ruined my body and i think it needs to be looked at more closely. I wasn't informed of this side effect and i ask alot of questions when going on something new. I still eat healthy and run 3-4 times a week and i cant loose a pound. I look in the mirror and i feel sick. I was always skinny before and i've always tried my best to stay healthy and this is where it's gotten me.

I only had two shots of the Depo, but that was enough!! I went from a size 5 to a size 10 in two months!! That was 5 yrs ago, to this day I can't loose the weight, even though I've tried everything from just eating as healthy as possible to several diets! I have never had a weight problem in my life and all the sudden I can't keep it off!!

I have been on and off (mostly on) the depo shot for 3 years. I have gained 20 pounds since being on it. I have always been underweight (4'11" and 78lbs) from the time I was 13 until I got on the shot at 23 yrs old. I notice when I am off the shot for a little while my appetite is greatly reduced. As soon as I go back on the shot I am STARVING all the time! My biggest weight gain was in the second year I was taking it, now it has slowly declined to about a rate of 1 lb a month. I am hoping when I get off I can drop this weight! ugh!

Hi All

Ive been searching the net for answers to this but no joy. Does any one know of any health risks of using Anti Estrogens and Ephedrine whilst on the Dep Provera injection?

Thanks xx

Hello all Smile

I have been working to lose weight for the past year now. Things have been up and down with my diet - at times encouraging, discouraging at others. You all know what I am going through! Smile Over the last year I have really tried to stay on the path - eating right, exercising religiously almost every day, and still I hit plateaus that I just don't understand how it can be scientifically possible!

I have never been one to use a diet pill. But then I found out about this all-natural supplement called "EXTREME LIFEFORCE" from Extreme Kinetic (http://www.extremekinetic.com). It is an all-natural supplement that contains no stimulants, and that helps in terms of burning stored body fat for those that have at least 15% body fat or more. It gives you extra energy, helps suppress your appetite and gives you the additional nutrients that your body might be lacking due to your diet.

The results I have seen while taking this product have been absolutely amazing! Even on days when I "slack off" a little bit or indulge, I still continue to see good results. This is something that I couldn't do before over the last year. One indulgence it seemed would put me 5 steps backwards!

You can check out the product at the following link:
https://www.extremekineticonline.net/product_lifeforce.html

It is a very cost effective product - less than $20 a bottle, and they also offer free samples that you can request through their website.

I just received an email about a special offer they have for 30% OFF your order for new customers, so that is why I thought I would share this with you.

The coupon code for 30% OFF your order is AUG2008.

I HIGHLY recommend checking out this product! Like I said, it is simply an all-natural supplement, but it works wonders!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me....

Good luck and Take Care!

Smile I have been on the Depo for 8 years, i decided to have a break from it to check my cycle would be ok. As soon as i came off the Depo i immediatly gained 4ilbs, and continued to put on weight. Putting on 7ilb in total. Needless to say..I couldnt wait to go back onto the Depo. My breasts went up a cup size when i came off it and i was heavy and puffy all the time. The Depo for me keeps my weight down.
The only difference i find in my eating habbits is that i like different types of food when im on it and off it. e.g. craved savory foods when i wasnt on it. I prefer sweet foods when im on it.
It works great for me and shoudlnt put people off because everyone is different !

I've been on depo for six years. I'm 5'10" and before depo I was 140 lbs.

I'm currently up around the 168 lb mark.

I've tried dieting, extreme exercise, cutting out all sugars, increasing water consumption, cutting out breads, increased B vitamins, tried weight loss supplements (NV, hydroxycut), eating power bars and drinking shakes... nothing helps.

The weight sits mainly on my hips, butt and thighs.

I recently tried ephedrine. 24 mg twice a day keeps me from feeling hungry, so I can use up some of the fat reserves I've built up. It's been a week now, and I feel and notice a huge difference.

If you've tried everything else, I recommend this. I've been fighting this battle from my first shot. This is the only thing that's helped.

I am 24 years old and have been on Depo for 2 years now ... I too started at the 135-140 range and have gone up to the 165-170 range. I changed nothing about my diet or exercise regimine. I always had a tendancy to gain weight in my hips and thighs, but my stomach was ALWAYS flat and defined. Not anymore ... Now I have a noticable "spare tire" and my arms have cellulite. I feel disgusting but I also love the benifits of Depo.

I am currently on the fence between staying on Depo or switching birth control methods. I have kicked up my workout routine a few notches this past month and if I gain any more weight by the time my next shot is due in November, I quit. These are supposed to be the prime years of my life ... I shouldnt be hiding under piles of fabric just so I dont have to deal with my period.

Im 28. I went on Depo back in 2000. The day I walked into my doctors to get it I was 136 lbs (Im 5'5"). In about 6 months time I was up to 155 lbs, and miserable. I cannot remember how many doses I actually took, although I really should call and find out. It wasnt for any more than 2 years- if that. My boyfriend was afraid of me-A grown man, just back frm bootcamp and the poor guy walked around his own house on eggshells. It made me crazy! I felt bloated constantly, even worse-I looked bloated. When I look in the mirror, or saw pictures of myslef it brought me to tears. Ive gained more weight over time on my own, but Im certain that if I had not gone on depo I would never in a million yrs gained so much. I was 180 lbs at my heaviest, and Im now back down to a size 12-11 on a good day Sad about 160) This is all since 2000. Oh, and my boobs-I went from a nice vickie secret "C" to an overwhelming DD. It sucks. I wouldnt wish this on anyone. As I mentioned b4, Im 28 now. 30's just around the corner and I cannot allow myself to dwell an longer. Im walking 2 miles a day, eating heathily (Although I always ate fairly well) and cutting back on the drinkie drinks : P I definitly dont need the extra sugar!
Good luck to everyone else who has been effected by Depo. Like you, I too am still looking for answers
