I am on chemo, I recently started. I noticed changes, but since the radiation is in neck and head area I have throat pain. I’ve heard that some people who are on chemo too are using indocaine to relive pain from inflammation of the throat. What I should do?

Mucositis is Inflammation of the lining of the mouth and it is a temporary side effect that may happen when radiation is given to the head and neck area. It usually improves after treatments are completed. You should ask you oncologist to prescribe you lidocaine or something else to assist you in mucositis is especially bad. Avoid spicy foods, abrasive foods, and alcohol. Anyway I don’t think you should be taking any meds without asking your doctor first.
