Hello. My husband”s mother has been diagnosed with leukemia. Luckily, it is not one of those severe cases. Supposedly, it is a slow growing cancer and it will be observed. Regardless the severity of her condition, I am still very concerned about my husband and our two boys! I mean, I would like to know if leukemia is hereditary. All info is more than welcome! Thx

Rare cases of leukemia result from hereditary conditions. Usually, the cause of the disease is unknown. However, Occasional cases of leukemia may be caused by environmental factors such as toxic chemicals or radiation. The thing is that patients with leukemia may be of any age from early infancy through late adulthood.
