I was surprised when I found out that urologists actually have to have coursers to use laparoscopic techniques. They actually train to perform laparoscopic surgery in urology. Can anyone participate or there is some special selection between urologists?

I talked with one urologist. He had postgraduate Mini-residency courses in minimally invasive urologic surgery, designed for urologists. It is entirely devoted to the transfer of the basic and advanced laparoscopic skills necessary for performing all types of minimally invasive surgery in urology. Participation in the laparoscopy training modules requires that he has already completed a basic laparoscopy course and submitted the certificate for those courses.
