iud decrease in effectiveness when on antibiotics??

I am wondering if anyone knows if the effectiveness of IUD decreases when on antibiotics? Specifically the Mirena IUD-which has hormones. I have the Mirena and was talking antibiotics about the time i would have been been ovulating. Its been 5 weeks since my last perod. and I have some pregnancy symptoms but am trying to hold off another week before taking a test. ( i have a feeling i am just being paranoid)

No, the IUD is not affected by hormones, but if you have symptoms it is always a good idea to test.

I was on antibiotics and have the Mernia and am now pregers so although there isn't any research......it would mae since as they affect the mini pill which is the same hormone.
