A friend of mine told me that all my children will have diabetes type 1 like me because it is genetic disease. I suffer from this disease for some time. My wife is now pregnant and we are expecting twins. Is it true that both our children will inherit diabetes type 1 from me? Is my friend right?

In some specific way diabetes type 1 is genetic disease. But it doesn't mean that all your children will develop it. The risk for relatives of individuals with the diabetes type 1 is considerably higher compared to the risk for the general population. In plain English your children will inherit predisposition, but not the disease. Will they have diabetes no one can surely tell?
