i want a better understanding of diabetes

hi,

my mom has been a diabetes patient for the last 6 or so years. these days she is experiencing some major problems such as she faints quite often losing all of her senses, severe head ache & body pain & some sort of problem in her left knee.. i guess its some thing related to the nerves for which doctor has suggested her to take brisk walks. she has also been prescribed gluformin g2 & lisoril 2.5, which she consumes once daily, two tablets each.

please tell me all the remedies, precautions, knowledge & understanding, a family member should know & understand when some one elderly in the family is all so diabetic, because at most of the occasions i my self become very nervous & feel very help less.
