i had some brown unknown stuff in my underwear and havent started my period! what is it?

It's your first period! Mine wasn't red the first time, but kind of a super dark cranberry/brown color. Even now, sometimes my period will be dark and pastey like that... other times it looks just like blood.

i need help! i think i started my period but idk? and i don't wanna tell my mom! i had this stuff in my underwear and it waz like dark brownish/red but it looks like discharge.....wat is it?
