I would like an answer to my question - how long do bell's palsy symptoms usually last? My mother has been suffering from it since 3 days ago and she is avoiding leaving the house, except for a visit to a doctor. Will she be all right? I love her and cannot watch her in problems like these.

Symptoms last as long as the condition is present. Of course, improvement depends on how fast the damaged nerve is healing. Usually it takes from several weeks to several months for the illness to subdue on its own. Still, I believe that she has been given an estimation of her recovery progress. As for consequences, usually all the symptoms are gone in time. There is a possibility that some effects might occur even after the therapy, but let's wait for the recovery first.
