horseshoe shaped kidney shutting down on me!

I guess there was not much to do about it before since I did not have any problems with it. Now, my horsheshoe kidney is shutting down on me and I don’t know what to do! I mean, because of its shape it is actually one kidney and, well, you see why I am so frightened! Is there something to be done or not?

Well, there is no definite cure for this condition, and the only thing that can be done is treating the symptoms. I am not sure what can be done in your case, but I am certain that something can be done, depending on the condition of your kidney. But I guess you have to leave that in the doctor’s hands.

I think a horseshoe kidney consists of two functioning kidneys connected by an isthmus. If one is shutting down, the other should still function.
