My grandfather has been diagnosed with diabetes type 2. He is 65 years old, and still in a good shape, no extra weight or serious medical problem until now. He said that he is mentally prepared for dealing with this condition but I am afraid for him. I also heard that there is a possibility of hepatitis c infection. Is there really a connection between hepatitis c and diabetes?

Actually, there is. Many medical studies showed that patients suffering from diabetes type 2 are in bigger danger of being infected by hepatitis s then people with no diabetes. Still, with extra care there should be no problem for your grandfather. I do hope that he can maintain his current state and that diabetes will pose no serious treat to him.
