Lately I feel like my head is so heavy, that is so hard to handle it. I can barely keep it up some days. Beside this heavy head feeling I am extremely sensitive to light, and hot, humid weather. All this makes me totally out of balance. I wonder if anyone had the same problem, and might tell me what this could be.

I have similar symptoms as you do, heavy head feeling, sensitivity and a lot of others. Few years ago my doctors thought it was labyrinthritis, but all audiological testing I performed came back as normal. My face was numb, whole head was numb and such a heavy. Also my teeth were sensitive to almost everything. The doctors tried with other diagnosis, so they diagnosed me vasomotor rhinitis, several environmental allergies… Everything looked like I have the worst case of TMJ combined with several allergies and sinus problems. Also I done MRI of the brain and auditory canals, but everything came back normal, and heavy head feeling stayed. I hope we don’t have exactly the same problem with heavy head feeling, because seems like mine is so terrible I don’t know if it will solve ever. Now I am planning to visit neurologist to check if I have some neurological problems. I would recommend you to visit as much doctors as you can and get real diagnosis, to treat your heavy head feeling right.

Hi Bunnie,

I have migraines and those sound an awful lot like they could be a type of migraine. Are you feeling any pain in your head other than the heaviness? If so, you should talk to your doctor to see if they can diagnose you and get you some medication. You shouldn't have to feel this way...

apon having the same heavy head feeling , I had blinding migranes that resulted in pain in my neck. After all kinds of treatment that included physical therapy, sterriod cream and migrane meds to treat TMJ. TMJ was surely the cause but all of those treatments were of no help. The TMJ was causing discs to slip out of place. I was sent to an orthadontist. I was fit for a retainer that prevented me from grinding my teeth at night. It worked wonders. At first I wore the retainer all the time and then reduced it to night time. You can try the over the counter mouth guards for athletes and now there is new mouth guards for grinding teeth as well. IF all else fails , try the orthadontist.
