Hi, I have gained 7 pounds since I’ve been taking Zoloft. Later, I was told that all anti-depressants induce weight gain.

Hi, although it may seem strange, but some medications actually can cause weight gain. Sometimes, it’s even up to a pound a week. No body seems to be too much interested in this. Epidemics of obesity are widely spread in developed world, but they are not usually put into connection with increased usage of medications. Fast food restaurants and couch-potato lifestyles additionally contribute to this. However, some studies are indicating of gaining large amounts of weight after starting antipsychotics, antidepressants and other prescription drugs.
