Hello everyone.
For the past 8 months or so, my stomach has been distended, uncomfortable and hard. I also have a dull ache in the lower right quad. I have had an ultrasound (pelvic and abdominal), an egd, and basic bloodtests: cmp, cbc, hep.
Eveything was normal. My stomach was a little red on the egd but no H. Pylori. etc.
I saw that the Dr. wrote something in my chart:
"epigastric fullness consistent with diastasis" but never said anything about that to me.
What other tests should I get done? I look like I am pregnant and I feel like there is fluid or something and it is very hard. It gets worse around my period but never fully goes away, ever. It doesn't seem to be related to my bowel movements at all. I have also taken every kind of fiber supplement , etc with no luck.
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks!

My wife has almost the same exact symptons(million dollar tests, numerous dr's, all say can't do ANYTHING!) This is unacceptable! Please also reply if anyone can HELP! These 'mainstream' "Doctors" can be the MOST IGNORANT AND INCOMPASSIONATE people EVER! Thanks.

not sure if anyone still reads this, but i thought i would let you guys know just in case.

I went to the doctor at the end of november, and was lucky enough to get a doctor that really thought something was wrong. She had us go right to the ER to figure it out.

Took 5 pregnancy tests, all were negitive. I looked as though I was 10 months.8 hourse in the hospital and they finally gave me a cat scan, and thats when they discovered that I had a large mass in my stomach. It turned out to be a tumor. It had been pressing against all my organs, i nearly had kidney failure, and i had a cyst on my spleen because of it. I had my surgery on dec 2nd to have it removed and It turned out to be 40 pounds, 16,000 cc. It would have filled 8, 2 liter bottles. They almost had to remove my uteris, ovaries and spleen, but thankfully it wasn't cancer so they didn't have to. 51 staples later...Im fine now, still recovering, it going to take 3-8 weeks to get back to somewhat normal life. But let me tell you, looking in the mirror is the most insane thing ever. I went from weighing 220 to 180.

I had the same exact problems you guys had, a huge, oddly hard, liquid type stomach and it was the most embarresing thing in my life. Just don't give up on looking for the right doctor to finally say, theres really something wrong. Or get a cat scan! because they didnt even bother with a ultra sound.

and just to let you guys know im female and im 20, a week away from 21. So this truely can happen to anyone at any age.

If your still suffering from this "huge stomach" try getting tested for pancreatitis. Both my mother and father suffered form this. My father said he looked 9 months pregnant!!!

I've been dealing with this problem for awhile too. I'm typically a very thin girl but have always had a little extra skin around the middle. About a year ago I was starting to look a little pregnant and one day I passed something that looked like a fetus. I did a hormone test and it came back high (like a pregnant woman's) but they said that if I've never been tested before, I could always have high levels. They also said my uterus was hard but just said what I passed was a blood clot. Which it definitely wasn't! Then they found that I had an ovarian cyst and was going to ignore it. By the time I found a decent gyno and got into surgery, the cyst doubled in size to 14 cm. I looked 5 months pregnant and was in a lot of pain.
After the surgery I was still having sharp abdominal pains and was very bloated. They just guesssed that its IBS because everyone in my family has it. 8 months later, after still having random pain wake me in the middle of the night and after eating, I had awoke in agony. It lasted for a few hours and felt a little better after I vomited. My doctor thought it was related to my pancreas.
I had a catscan and they said my stomach is distended and I don't digest and pass food regularly. It just sits in my stomach. I'm going to see a specialist in a few weeks. And they are checking me for gallstones.
