ok, I went for my needle and urine, I am now in ketosis, which to them is good.
my body is now eating itself, yeahhhhhhh!!!!
they had no idea I cheated with those two crackers, and it didnt seem to effect anything. So so far they still love me. No bad nurses yet!
by the way 6 days in and 4.5 lbs lighter.

ok, I am a bad a bad girl. I drank a few beers on Friday with my girlfriends. I was good with the food part all weekend though. Damn, I wander if I am gonna be up the creek today. I wander if it took me out of this "kitosis" thing. let you know tomorrow.
I know it costs so much money and I should not be fooling around, but I can be weak I guess. it is soooo strenuous.
I'm hearing that no matter what I will be gaining it all back anyway. we will see.

If you are cheating and not obeying the rules and want to fork out all that money - STOP COMPLAINING
No one forced you to get put on the extra fat; no one is forcing you to follow this diet. You have made a choice - STOP COMPLAINING!!
If you lose the weight and go back to eating 4 donuts and a double double coffee everyday, you have no right to complain about the weight gain.........
As with any diet it up to you what you put in your mouth before, during and after the diet is over. STOP BLAIMING everyone, everything BUT yourself.
Sorry to sound harsh, but come on.........

oh please you have no idea, I am not big, just vain. I am doing this as a journal, if you read it all you would see that. Im not complaining, Im observing and comparing all the horror stories to real life. YOU must work for them.
and just like you say I AM PAYING, not you..
.. As for OBEYING, what a joke, do I sound like I am in kidergarden, ever heard of SECRET shoppers or surveys. Its my right and job to test out whatever products and services are made available to the public and to their purse.
anyhow, to everyone else before the bernstein staff decided to intervene, I would like to say 2 more lbs off. They have also updated alot of what you can eat, go to their website and you WIll find alot of new things that are not in the book. Not paying mind to the last comment from their staff, this week we will see, with NO cheating what happens to me.
by the way still ketosis.

I'm on the Dr. B diet - started in mid August, so for about 6 weeks now. I have lost 21 lbs (started at 186.8, currently 165.
and I have not yet cheated on the diet. I've never been on a diet before - this is my first. It's strict and difficult, but I'm not hungry and I occasionally get frustrated because the weight loss is not faster. The first week was really tough - especially the first 2 days. I had major headaches and very little energy. By day 3 I was feeling a bit better.. and by the end of the week I had more energy than I knew what to do with.
You really have to be creative with the food because if you're not it gets boring. I don't mind eating apples, oranges and canteloupe as my main sources of fruit - but sometimes I really want a banana - not craving.. just want.
I've missed two of three goals by .4 lbs and 1.2 lbs respectively, but have found the staff to be very supportive so far. I'm signed up for another month - hopefully I'll be another 20lbs less, but the weight loss does slow down after the first month and you must exercise to keep your metabolism up and of course, stay healthy

I too have noticed that the weight loss slows down some after even 3 weeks. Yes I did cheat, but not by much, when my stomach was upset a couple of times I ate 2-3 regular crackers with a tiny bit of peanut butter, didn't seem to effect anything. a week or so ago I had a couple beers with my girlfriend, which went un noticed but indeed I think hindered my weight loss goal, still shed 3 lbs the week after but again, not my goal.
Its funny, the staff has been sooo friendly and if I cheat I feel guilty. I started this as a research project, but am liking it now.
It is very expensive and I will only be able to do this a short time more, maybe a month. I have found alot of the bad things people are saying about it to be untrue. I hope it all doesnt pack right back on as soon as I am out the door, but I will say, I plan to live my life healthier now that I see how good I feel. So lets hope that, that helps too.
Its been 3 weeks tomorrow and I have lost 11.5 lbs, I will let you know at one month, oh by the way I have not been cheating lately as I am no longer feeling sick and the beers a week or more ago only left me guilt ridden and in the gymn everyday after.
good luck to you! I know you can do it! If this is your first diet, I think you are doing amazing, don't get discouraged.

Hi, I started the Diet on Monday and have still not been in a state of ketosis....even though I am following the diet to my best and have not cheated!! I am worried that i will be kicked out if my bdy doesn't adjust and kick into ketosis....is there a possibility that the reason is due to my period?
I started at 190.8lbs and my last weigh in yesterday says I am at 189lbs....I feel like things are out of my hands and that i have no control over how to get into ketosis. Can someone please HELP!!

Hi there...i am a Bernstein follower twice over. I am again on the diet after a long 7 years ramping the weight back up after my first attempt.
I can tell you that if you are losing your body is moving towards Ketosis. Sometimes you might not be taking in enough liquid. sometimes it takes people's bodies a different amount of time to shift into the "ketosis" mode. No worries, just follow along and take your vitamins and drink your liquids and it will happen.
My first experience with the diet and staff was very different from this go around. Even the same location but the atmosphere and the way i am "handled" has definately changed for the better. I find a lot of support at the centre and if you are following the diet and something is not going right, they are there to help you don't worry about being "kicked out".
I am 3 weeks Tuesday past and 23 lbs down. It is a tough road but amazing results. What i am most concerned about is the maintenance after.
I was wondering has anyone any experience with doing weight Watchers after Bernstein - did it work for maintaining the weight loss?
I have had great success with weight watchers in the past but just don't know if it will help me keep the weight off after such a dramatic program like Bernstein....
Thanks

Hi there,
I have been researching Dr. Bernstein's clinic and have been reading the various comments made.
Your experience sounds positive. Did you go to a clinic in Canada? If so, did you apply for a tax medical benefit?
Did you feel quite supported if you said you were struggling?
I know everyplace has someone who is not the happiest ( I should know I work in an ICU with 150 nurses)
How has maintenance been?
Any insight you could give me would be most appreciated
I tried your email but it didn't work.
You could email me at highlandlassiedogwalking@yahoo.com
Thanks very much
