My 20 year old niece for 2 montth has been coughing up blood, has recurring fevers and is sweating so much that she constantly changing her clothes. Some people where she works came back from Mexico with a cough. She thought she had caught their "cold". But they got better but she did not. She has been to 4 doctors and she was either given cough medicine and told to go home or the last doctor told her she has asthma. I have never heard of asthma ocurring in an adult with all these symptoms. When I do a web search for symptoms the only thing I come up with is TB ( turburculosis). Which I realize might be unlikely but I am at a loss for answers). The doctors refuse to do a TB test because she is not in the right "category" ( white, middle class). She is miserable and is desperate to find a doctor that will take her seriously and not dismiss her. If any one can help me find an answer or where I can go for help I would be very appreciative.
