cortisone injection

I did not find your response to the question of drinking and cortisone particularly helpful.

Yes, most people are aware that drugs and alcohol don't mix but the majority would assume that only applied to drugs taken orally. I had no warning given to me before having a cortisone injection, nor a tetanus injection nor any other sort of injection.

I am a very moderate drinker but perhaps you could have indicated a more specific time frame over which to abstain. The fact that the benefits of cortisone may last for a year or more may suggest that should be the period of abstenance.
