Hi. I am a woman thirty years old, and lately I have been starting to feel fatigued, I was vomiting a lot, also, and my chest hurt. I went to see a doctor, and he did a few tests, and it turned out that I have autoimmune hepatitis. He sent me to a specialist and he is going to prescribe me a therapy. What to expect?

autoimmune hepatitis is a serious disease and when diagnosed early, can be treated and stopped. Since with this disease, your immune system attacks the liver cells, the primary treatment is slowing down the overactive immune system. Drugs that are being used for this treatment are prednisone and azathioprine. They have some side effect that you should be aware of.
