Hi, my mom is 56 years old and she is on the diet for one month. She is much disciplined and she makes it to lose 8 pounds. Yesterday she was talking about her diet with her friend who told her that she may have snacks between her meals. I think that this is not good for her diet but I would like to be sure about it.

I guess your mother knows that is the best way to organize her meals to divide it into several less meals. She may have two main meals and few snacks between them. If she uses this pattern it is quite all right. Snacks would be consisted from vegetables and fruit as they have low caloric value. It means that you mom may have snacks but only if she reduce her main meals.
