advice on swollen eye, and pain in face

Yesterday I woke up with swelling all round my right eye. It's not painful or red in my eye and it's not affected my vision. However I do have pain down the side of my face and jaw (down the hairline, in front of the ear -it feels like the glands are swollen). I went to the doctors who thought it was maybe conjunctivitis and gave me eye drops. But this isn't helping and it doesn't seem like an eye infection to me. I've also tried antihistamines but these haven't helped. Does anyone have any ideas?

This really sounds a lot like a sinus infection. This can continue and become more and more painful. You may also have an inner ear infection. An ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor) can confirm this. Either way, you won't likely have any relief without the proper medication which you will not get over the counter. See a doctor right away to get the help that you need.
