Could it be that my menstrual cycle has changed due to eating habits? I have no other troubles but I have been under a lot of stress for the last year since I started working and changed my diet (read not eating regularly). I have lost quite a lot of weight and my periods became irregular, so I was wondering if these things could be related. Thanks

Well, it is quite possible. It could be your diet and the stress affecting your cycle. Diet is very important in regulating hormonal and menstrual health. If you are not eating the right foods or let’s say if you lack certain foods in your diet, you are likely to experience menstrual problems. It would be wise to see a doctor and have a blood tests done to check your hormones first. Your doc may advise you to start taking certain vitamins or maybe even herbs to help you regulate your cycle. The reason I know about this is that my sister had problems being anorexic a couple of years ago when we were teenagers. It was a very hard period because it influenced her mentally and emotionally. After loosing a lot of weight suddenly, she didn’t have a period at all and couldn’t menstruate at all. When the things went back to normal, her period was back too but it was a long process.
