There are few persons on the planet who haven’t tried to lose weight at one point of their lives. Those who have managed to lose hardly ever manage to keep it that way and usually pile them all back later on.

A new study reveals why this is the case. It is in our hormones.
A hormone called leptin that is responsible for regulating our metabolism, also tells our body when it has had too much food. When we lose weight, the levels of leptin drop, which makes it harder to burn off calories and helps the weight to come back.

This is the reason why almost 85% of dieters don’t succeed in keeping the desired weight.
This finding may help in paving the way for a new drug that will help us maintain the levels of leptin.

Leptin was also found to act as an appetite suppressant and it plays a role in helping our brain cells communicate with each other.
