When people move from one part of the world to another, they often accept some of the new culture’s customs usually those regarding food.

A new study conducted in UK and in association with health experts from Delhi, compared eating habits and their impact on health between people from India who lived in UK and those who remained in their native countries.

The study showed that the people who moved and accumulated, accepting western way of life and nutrition had higher body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol and were at increased risk of heart disease and diabetes.

Doctors have attributed the results to the Western diet, lack of physical activity and overall lifestyle.

People are still being advised to turn to fruit and vegetables, whole grains, fish, and poultry and reduced fats and refined sugars, as well as regular physical activity to boost energy as well as brain activities.
