I am almost 2 weeks post op abdominalplasty. My question is I was wondering if it is possible to gain weight after abdominalplasty after having a lot of extra skin removed? I went in at 165 after losing 200lbs and I am currently 170. I am getting a little paranoid I am used to having an active job and being home and taking it eas is very hard. I f anyone can educate me on swelling and how much, and if it is a severe weight gain. I also was told I can start walking on my treadmill on thursday yipee! Anyone who has some sort of advice for me I would appreciate it.

I am 12 days post op and I am barely starting to feel my stomach get softer. I went in at 117 lbs and I weight 118.5 right now. The swelling makes me look pregnant and my stomach curves at the bottom, but everyone keeps telling me to give it more time. Today I had a good morning cause I left the girdle off all night so I woke up feeling unpressed and actually less swollen. Sometimes the garments may be too tight which I think is prolonging my swelling. I just ordered a regular girdle to see if that will help instead of the compression garment. I finally feel a little normal today so it's a good feeling. One girl said she didn't have the swelling like I do in the stomach hers was in her upper vaginal area. I think we are all different and we heal differently. I hope I look normal soon cause none of my jeans or clothes for that matter fit me.

I had an abdominoplasty in 1986. soon after surgery i developed upper abdominal distention and as i get older and i gain some weight it is becoming a serious problem. i look worse now than i did then. i wish i had my old stretch marks and saggy belly back. atleast then i would be comfortable instead of this increasing pressure and four inch role of fat that i can pull out. also i think the mesh that they used back then is rolled up and gives my stomach an abnormal bulging appearance that is ugly and uncomfortable. i see others have had the same problems. has anyone found the answer?
