I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend for the first time in the early hours of the morning. My period appeared later that night. Is there any possibility that i could be pregnant? Do i need to wait for my next period in order to know for sure whether or not i'm pregnant??

No, you aren't pregnant. That would be physically impossible. The egg is expelled during your period, along with the protective lining. No egg, no lining, no baby. You can actually only get pregnant during a 48-72 hour time frame that takes place about 10 days before your period, when the egg is in a very specific location. However, you shouldn't be guessing about when it might be. That's called the rhythm method, and its not particularly effective. Use a condom. If you are absolutely, 100% positive that neither of you have an STD it is safe to have unprotected sex during your period and probably a day or so after. But use a condom right before you "think" you're going to have your period, because it could be late.
