A few years ago I accidentally lost a lot of weight through stress and not eating properly. I have now regained weight, but in a rather strange way...

My legs have swelled to a larger size than they have ever been before, while my arms have remained skinny. When I wear trousers (which is most of the time) I look very underweight, and people worry about me, thinking I must have an eating disorder. I then sound vain and neurotic when I assure them that my legs are large!

I am attempting to keep fit by occasionally going for a brief jog at a local gym, which may account for the fact my legs have swelled to a much larger size. One member of staff at the gym suggested that the weight may also have accumulated on my legs due to a hormone imbalance.

I am determined to get to the bottom of this, out of pure vanity - I am fed up of looking so odd, and of people thinking I'm skinnier than I actually am! Any advice or suggestions are more than welcome...
