I have been just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I was put on Tapazole 15 mg daily dose. I would like to know how this medicine Tapazole works and what will do with my thyroid. Thank you.

Tapazole belongs to class of medications called antithyroid medications. It is used to treat overactive thyroid gland and it prevents the thyroid gland from over-producing thyroid hormone, but does not interfere with the actions of thyroid hormone. It may take weeks to months before Tapazole has its full effect on the symptoms of overactive thyroid, palpitations; sweating…It is important that Tapazole is taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
