Strep throat testing

Hi!
I've just completed my antibiotics for strep throat. Last month my father in law had all the symptoms of a strep throat but did not get any antibiotics. He was ok after 2 weeks. Then, my husband was sick for a week or so. They did not take any medicines. I'm sure they also had strep throat as our symptoms were very very similar. I got tested and took the antibiotics. Can I kiss my husband now? How long will he carry the strep bacteria in his throat? should he get tested now - he's ok now.
