Hi, definitely it is important that you're comfortable with your doctor and that you two working together can come to optimal treatment and cure your asthma. However, a GP’s office is not properly equipped to follow your asthma condition. So, you need to see a specialist. You should ask your
primary care physician for a referral to an asthma specialist, since he must send you.
Typically, an evaluation of your
lung function is done as an integral part of monitoring how your asthma condition is developing. The allergist or the pulmonologist would be able to manage our condition with more success.
