I came to this post after typing in keywords, such as red/itchy palms and swollen lip. It's amazing that others have the same symptoms!

I'm wondering, instead of it being some disease or true on-going allergy, that it is Bed Bugs?! I know that I have Bed Bugs (or some sort of mites) in my mattress. I know this because it happened ever since I moved into my new apartment and when the weather turns cold. Also, in the middle of the night I've felt a tiny "something" crawling on me and I swat it away. Then the next morning I wakeup with welps and bug bites all over wherever my body touched my mattress during the night (thighs, butt, stomach, knees, etc). So, now that I've read all of these, and most if not all of us are reporting these symptoms when we wakeup, perhaps that is it!!

I am experiencing similar symptoms of red/itchy palms and swollen lip. I woke up with bed bug bites all over this morning. I have had no allergic reactions before and had nothing unusual to eat before my sysmptoms started. After reading the posts, looks like bed bug bites can be a reason for such allergic reaction in few.

For several months now I am waking up every morning with swollen hands, palms the itch like crazy, and hives on my lower back, back of my neck, head, and buttocks. I had my thyroid removed 4 months ago and wonder if there might be some corolation. Doctors are still trying to get my medicines right. Anybody have an idea?

I have had similar situation happen to me. I never had allergies until now and I am 23.

I have had similar itchy pamls, swollen lips, hands, and feet one time. I think it might be caused by somethign outdoor because the night before i went into the woods or a bug bite. Thats what I was told.

Another thing i realized is that alchohol might be the cause as well. sometimes beverages like red bull or achohol has a effect on the food you eat. it might trigger an allergy when mixed together( food + alcohol).

good luck peeps.

I am so glad I ran across this website...I thought I was the only one out there experiencing this. My symptoms started about 2 weeks ago with very small raised itchy bumps on the inner sides of both of my arms. Then I noticed that between my shoulder blades I had raised bumps about a 1/4" long and also very itchy. Then I had scattered blotchy spots on my face. Then my hands and feet both swell. My palms were very itchy and red. Confused I had consumed trail mix the previous night prior to my initial breakout. By the 2nd week I was itchy EVERYWHERE....including my butt cheeks Embarassed Sad I also have never had ANY allergic reactions to any foods EVER. Exclamation I took some over the counter benedryl. It seemed to help somewhat. The blotchyness on my face has subsided. Cool But my feet feel like "New Years Day Balloons" Crying or Very sad When I try and where my tennis shoes they are VERY tight and uncomfortable. Even now at 2 a.m. it is VERY uncomfortable to walk around the house barefoot. I wish I knew for sure what caused this. I am 45 year old male and have NEVER, EVER experienced anything like this before in my life. I eat and drink EVERYTHING with no problems what so ever. I will check back with everyone here over the next few days and update my symptoms and I sympathize (SP) with ALL of you.

I'm seventeen and just got home from walking around the mall. my hands get really red and itchy and they burn also. I don't get the tongue or throat problems but they still hurt. I don't know what is causing it but it mainly happens when I walk and swing my hands down by my sides. I thought it was just the gravitational pull causing my blood to rush to my hands, until it started happening for NO reason. I have no clue what it is. but next time it happens, some quick relief is putting your hands in/under ICE COLD water for a few minutes. dont' dry then off, let them air dry. hope that helps with the momentary pain. I know it sucks!
