Hi! Pulmonary embolism is a common medical condition that is difficult to diagnose. There are a lot of diagnostic tests to assist in establishing the diagnosis, but all of them have poor sensitivity. The angiography is the best test, but it is invasive and caries significant risk. Sometimes CT scan can be helpful to set up diagnosis. Sometimes CT scan is negative, but patient has pulmonary embolism. You can see that is very hard to diagnose embolism.
